Part 3 in Brazil. The beauty of Florianopolis..

From Porto Alegre we took a plane to Florianopolis the capital city and the second largest city of Santa Catarina State and one of three Islands in Brazil .

In the beaches you can find all kind of sellers selling everything like clothing, drinks with or without alcohol , flip flops , food, sweets , cut and ready to eat fresh fruit and fruit salad , sandwiches, ice cream , popsicles and so many other things.

Even Batman is in Florianopolis. But looks like he ran out of money.

While walking around downtown I found out they have a open GYM !!!! Yes my friends , you can workout for free and look at the beautiful ocean !!! It can't get better than that. The nicest thing in Florianopolis is that the people love the outdoors. They like to exercise, walk , play games at the beach , jog, etc .

Next to Praia da Joaquina ( Joaquina Beach ) I went to the Sand Dunes, it was a lot of fun. You just rent a board for R$20,00 (reais ) about $10.00 dollars ( a person) and you can use it for 1 hour ... This is a really great workout because you have to go up and down the sand dunes .

The beauty of the beaches will leave you speechless. Each one has something that will catch your attention and there's even some  barely touched by man .

Jurere Internacional  is very upscale area with  beach clubs ,restaurants , bars and lots of people, it's almost impossible to find a place to put your beach chair and umbrella . But everybody wants to stay there . In the summer they have live Djs playing at the beach , you can drink a nice Caipirinha (the brazilian drink - made with: lime juice, sugar , cachaca (alcohol made of sugar cane ) and ice . ) , you see the brazilian girls walking in tongs , the guys wearing speedos ...

                                            That's me.

My friends, I hope you enjoyed my trip to Brazil , I've always said we have to enjoy our life and try to do things that make us feel good  because life is not just about work, problems and stress , our body and our mind need a little break once in a while, this is part of our health . BodyKnockout in Brazil part 2..

My next stop is Porto Alegre, the capital and largest city in the Brazilian State of Rio Grande Do Sul. From there we drove to Serra Gaucha a mountainous region with a lot of German and Italian influence. We made a little stop to see the Waterfall in Parque do Caracol , it was very beautiful and powerful.

The area is landscaped with beautiful Hydrangeas.

Now it's the time for some Wine Tasting !!!

We stopped in 2 of the biggest wineries in Brazil  located in Bento Goncalves city  .  MIOLO AND SALTON

We took a tour which was about 1 hour on each winery. We walked between the plantation, heard about the history of the winery ,walked by wine barrels and I did a wine tasting .

Be back with Part 3 in Florianopolis...

Bodyknockout in Brazil.. Part 1

Hello friends !!! How are you doing ? Happy 2013 !! I really miss you all and I hope you are doing great and making sure your health is top priority  in your life .

As most of you already know I was away for a couple of months. I went to visit my family and friends in Brasil. During the trip I saw a lot of cool stuff that I would like to share with you. My trip started in Sao Paulo, the largest city in Brasil and one of the world's largest cities by population.(picture above )

Fresh open markets are everywhere throughout Brasil. I just love this! There are open markets everyday in different areas of town. In the Markets you can buy all sorts of fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, seafood , eggs , meat , fresh sugar cane juice, local food ,exotic fruits and coconut water.

One day I was walking in an open market and a fruit caught my eye. It was different than anything I'd ever seen. The guy that was selling called me over to see and taste it. It was so delicious! This exotic fruit is called Mangosteen. You have to cut to get in the middle of the fruit to eat the white part. The fruit originates from Southwest Asia but today you can find them in most Tropical areas around the world including Brasil .

Some benefits to eating mangosteen are : Very Potent Antioxidant , Powerful anti- inflammatory , strong anti -tumor agent , increase energy.

If you ever get a chance to try this unique fruit DO NOT MISS OUT!!!

I'll be back next time with Part 2 of my trip to Brazil.
